Children and babies laugh much more than adults. Research shows that children on an average laugh 400 times a day as compared to grown-ups who only laugh around 25 times. Getting a baby to spill into pearls of laughter is not an easy task. But as we see in this video, the laptop does this task at the click of a button. It is amazing to see the child immediately break into the most contagious laughter.
Even though both the television and the laptop are extremely entertaining, but unlike the television, the laptop is more interactive. If we as adults are enthusiastic about this technology, we cannot even begin to imagine the curiosity of a baby. The knowledge that he is instrumental in bringing about a reaction, sound or movement within the screen is very tickling for the child as seen in the video.
It is the remarkable combination of funny sounds and crazy actions on the laptop screen which does this. Studies have shown that things that do not belong to each other make babies laugh. Adults are burdened with the knowledge of the internet, software, hardware and all the technological know-how which actually takes away the fun element from the most mind boggling things. When a baby tries to link all of the fun with the tip of his finger, all he thinks is magic which translates into total exuberance.
The baby’s laughter shows awe and surprise in a playful way. In the world of babies, everything is big, gigantic and not reachable. But a laptop is small, maybe smaller than a lot of toys. The babies can relate to it in a lot of ways. Also in a world where adults can achieve so much all by themselves, being able to use the laptop is nothing less than awesome.
What is very inspiring to see is that in a world where children are exposed to amazing gadgets, they continue to find pleasure and happiness from the things we adults take for granted.
