Expert Review:

The Samsung NC110-AM4UK netbook is a lightweight budget laptop that is perfect for helping you keep in touch with others whilst at home or on the move. Whilst not as powerful as other laptops, this netbook is very light and portable, and has all the essential features you would expect to find.

The screen has a matt finish rather the more usual glossy finish so reflections are banished, even under bright viewing conditions. Its 6 cell battery gives you up to 11 hours of usage on a full charge giving you plenty of time for working on documents, browsing the web and sending emails when there’s no power outlet nearby.

This is not a laptop for gamers or power users but the Samsung NC110-AM4UK has plenty of connectivity options with support for wireless, Bluetooth and 3 USB ports. If there are no available networks via wi-fi then you can access the internet virtually anywhere via your smartphone. The Samsung NC110-AM4UK netbook is available in range of stylish colours and is the perfect choice for those who want the convenience of a full laptop but at a price that won’t break the bank.

The new Samsung Series 5 Chromebook is the first laptop to use Google’s Chrome OS and is the lightweight way to access websites, apps and your documents. It boots up rapidly – in less than 10 seconds! – and runs websites and web apps swiftly and smoothly. The Samsung Series 5 Chromebook boasts an excellent battery life of around 8.5 hrs so you will be able get plenty of use in-between charges.

Unlike a traditional laptop, almost no data is actually stored on the machine. Using a cloud-based computing model, files and apps are stored remotely on secure servers. Software updates are automatically downloaded in the background whilst you use the laptop and are applied when you next reboot so there’s no need to close any applications to install patches. You don’t need a virus scanner either as the machine checks its internal systems regularly and will simply replace any suspect files.

It may take a little while to get used to a different way of working but there are a wealth of apps available online via the Chrome Web Store and you can do almost everything that’s possible on a regular PC. The new Samsung Series 5 Chromebook is a stylish new way of computing on the move!

The SAMSUNG Series 9 13.3″ laptop is the perfect alternative to the Macbook Air for those who don’t wish to switch from Windows to OSX or pay more for an Apple-branded product. It boasts an amazing sleek and stunning design and backs this up with powerful, fast and efficient performance. Its slick Duralumin outer shell is nearly twice as strong as common aluminium alloys and almost as lightweight.

Opting for a 128GB SSD instead of a traditional hard drive the SAMSUNG Series 9 13.3″ laptop benefits from much longer battery life and faster boot up times. As you would expect, there is also Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 2 USB ports – including an ultra-fast USB 3.0 port – and a microSD memory card reader.

The SAMSUNG Series 9 13.3″ laptop’s ultra-bright 400-nit LED backlit screen is clearly aimed at a professional user rather than gamer and cuts down reflections whilst still keeping clear and vibrant colours. When you combine this with its backlit keyboard then you have an amazingly classy lightweight laptop which is perfectly portable for those users who are looking for an ultra-mobile machine. In summary, this is an excellent alternative to the Macbook Air at an affordable price.
