Expert Review:
The Dell Inspiron 1318 small laptop is highly portable with outer dimensions of 12.5 x 9.4 x 0.98 in and weighing 5 lbs. The laptop is powered by Intel Pentium Dual Core T2390 Processor (1.86 GHz, 533 MHz, 1 MB cache) and has a main memory of 2GB DDR2 RAM. It is enough for running Windows Vista OS comfortably.
The small laptop has stylish looks and is available in attractive colours. The 160 GB hard disk storage is sufficient for most day to day applications. For long term storage, the laptop has an internal DVD Rewriter. The graphics is handled by Intel Integrated X3100 Graphics processor which is not fast enough for modern high speed games. The display is 13.3in TrueLife widescreen which is truly impressive.
The Dell Inspiron 1318 small laptop has Wifi, 56 Kbps modem and Infrared port for external connectivity. In addition there is 1 USB 2.0 port and a firewire connection. It also has an integrated 2.0MP webcam and is powered by 4 cell Li-Ion battery. The OS is Windows Vista Home Premium Edition.
In conclusion, the Dell Inspiron 1318 small laptop has stylish looks and is packed with many features for daily use but is not suitable for high speed gaming.

“Very portable, and amazing, very much worth the price, but the hard drive is a little noisy”

I ordered the Dell Inspiron 1318 in March 2009 with the upgraded 2 GHz processor and a beefed up 4 GB memory. The hard drive is the same at 160 GB. I opted out of the integrated webcam feature, perhaps I should’ve kept it in. Otherwise this laptop is quite nice, a bit noisy as Scott mentioned below, but it’s just the hard drive when accessing data that has not yet been loaded into the RAM, at least the fan is hardly audible. I am very happy with it.
