The webbook is a small laptop manufactured by Elonex, the UK electronics company and is being sold solely by The Carphone Warehouse.
Elonex webbook is powered by VIA C7-M 1.6GHz processor with a main memory of 512 MB. The hard disk has a capacity of 80 GB. The display screen measures 10.2″ diagonally and has a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. It provides sharp images
With overall dimensions of 9.9 x 7.2 x 1.25in and a weight of 2.9 lbs, the small laptop is highly portable. The external connectivity is taken care of by 10/100 Ethernet LAN and Wifi 802.11 b/g cards. In addition the netbook has 3 USB ports, a SD card and VGA out port. The audio feature includes built in speakers, head phone jack and mic.
The lightweight laptop has 3 cells Li-Ion battery that is good enough for about 2.5 hours of normal usage. The standard OS provided with the netbook is Ubuntu, a version of Linux open source software though Windows XP version is also available. Elonex provides standard 1 year warranty on the laptop.
To summarize, the Elonex webbook provides value for money and good for browsing the internet but lacks many features like CD/DVD drive, Bluetooth, webcam etc.
