Dell Alienware M11x gaming laptop
The Alienware M11x is the latest gaming laptop from the Dell stable and is highly portable and powerful. It has 11.6” widescreen LED backlit display and is user configurable i.e. you have a choice of processor, memory, hard drive / flash drive, battery pack etc.
With a size of 11.25 x 9.19 x 1.29” and weighing just 4.39lbs, the Alienware M11x lightweight gaming laptop is easy to carry and compact. This stylish looking laptop is powered by Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor with a memory of 2x 2GB Hynix DDR3-1066 running at 800 MHz with timings of 6-6-6-15 for the configuration reviewed here. This dual channel architecture has higher memory bandwidth than conventional ones.

The secondary storage has a choice of Toshiba 160GB 7200rpm SATA hard drive with 16mb Cache or a Samsung 128GB flash drive with the latter obviously weighing less and consuming less power. For external connectivity there are Wi-fi, Bluetooth and Ethernet LAN. In addition there are 3 USB 2.0 ports, good quality stereo speakers, 3 in 1 card reader, VGA/HDMI/Display port video output and audio jacks. Windows 7 Home Premium drives this gaming laptop and as is to be expected in laptops of this size there is no internal CD/DVD drive. The 8-Cell Li-ion 64WH battery can endure up to 5 hours of gaming.
To sum up the Dell Alienware M11x is the perfect laptop for gaming enthusiasts with most common games like Modern Warfare 2, DiRT 2, Left 4 Dead 2 etc. being comfortably played in it.
