The first name that comes to our mind when we speak about operating systems is Windows. The undisputed market leader in operating systems has created a market for its software applications all over the world and has been growing since the launch of the first PC. But times may change very soon. The reason is that Google is all set to launch their exclusive version of the Chrome operating system and are working hard on it. The program is supposed to be named Google Chrome OS and will surely add feathers to their cap.

google-chromeThe advantages that Google Chrome OS is likely to have are a wide range of extensive applications and faster connectivity to the web. According to one of their managers, no operating system is designed exclusively for running web based applications. But in today’s fast paced and web dependent world, we need an OS that would enable us to use the internet in a fast and hassle free way. Google Chrome OS will ensure that a user gets to use an operating system that is fast and lightweight and connects to the web in a few seconds. Thus, this operating system will bring us all the more closer to the internet and entangle our lives with the world wide web. The product is planned to be launched sometime in mid 2010 and will be available all over the world.

Even Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer have confirmed in a recent interview that they are expecting Google to launch their operating system. Gates has further said that Android is also an operating system and has a browser in it. It is currently being used for netbooks and thus, the news that Google is launching their version of the operating system is stale news and that Google has already started off with their venture in the category of operating systems with Android. He further said that this incident is no different from their other competitor Linux.
