Netbook Wars
Tired of watching the usual promos for netbooks? Here is a novel use of animation in promoting new Samsung N310 netbook.
A combination of holograms and clay animation (claymation for short) have been used in producing the video. Stop motion animation technique using clay figures is employed in producing the animation part of the film. Here is a brief description of the procedure used in claymation.
Clay figures are prepared first and moved slowly and the video is captured at a speed of 8 to 15 frames per second. Special software is used to edit the video to remove any hand or other extraneous objects. The software captures still frames of the video and background music and voice overs are added later. The dialogue is lip synced with the characters in the video also using special software. The animation film is then digitally embedded in real life background video to give a surreal effect. Animation software like Stop Motion Animator is available for free on the internet.
Animation professionals who have produced this video have done a fantastic job to make it appear realistic. It is really awesome and fun to watch. Go ahead and enjoy!
